What is a widget?

The widget lets people send text messages direct to your website. They don't need to sign up with your site or with Thumbprint City, they just send a text by following the instructions - just like in the example on the right.

You use your Thumbprint City page to manage the widget, and you can reply by text message or through the widget.

How do I get a widget?

Step one: create a page on the Thumbprint City website.
This will provide you with all the controls you need to manage your widget and to interact with your users.

Step two: put a piece of HTML code into the place on your website page where you want your widget to go. It will look a lot like this:

<iframe src="http://thumbprintcity.com/widget/example" width="340" height="480" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0"></iframe>

And that's it.

You can change the width and height of the widget by changing the numbers in the HTML code. All measurements are in pixels (those tiny rectangles that make up the display on your computer screen). So, for example, to make your widget wider you might change it like this:

<iframe src="http://thumbprintcity.com/widget/example" width="400" height="480" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0"></iframe>

You can also adjust the height in similar fashion.

Minimum values

Your widget requires a minimum width of 168 pixels to work properly. It also needs a minimum height - but that depends on what you have chosen as your width. If you choose values that are too small your widget will let you know!
